Job summary

The Oxnard Public Library is seeking a Branch Services Supervising Librarian to provide leadership across South Oxnard and Colonia Branch libraries. You will guide staff, enhance reference services, and participate in program design, development, delivery and evaluation to serve Oxnard’s diverse community.

Requirements include a Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, at least three years of public library experience with supervisory responsibilities, and strong English

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Three years of public library experience and one year of supervisorial or lead experience.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of one or more branch libraries.
• Guide staff in cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, and programs.
• Act as lead reference librarian and assist customers with materials.
• Provide customer service, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues.
• Schedule staff, monitor performance, and draft reviews.
• Address facility needs and coordinate building maintenance.
• Develop library plans and promote programs and community outreach.
• Engage with community and schools to extend services.
• Design displays and engage readers.
