Job summary

W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Branch Sales Associate (part-time, ~20+ hrs/wk, 1st shift, weekdays) to connect with walk-in customers using knowledge and a winning attitude.

You will maximize sales opportunities, provide excellent service, and support warehouse tasks in a fast-paced Grainger branch. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will adapt communication across channels, assist with order entry, and help with merchandising and inventory while maintaining Grainger standards and safety

Qualifications

• Previous retail or sales experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different customers.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience including product selection and order entry.
• Assist with warehouse tasks and stock handling.
• Maximize sales opportunities and build customer loyalty.
• Operate computer systems for transactions.
• Support merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts and housekeeping to Grainger standards.
• Follow safety guidelines and PPE as required.

Compensation:

This position is hourly. The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $18.85 to $23.55 per hour.

Position Details:

As a Branch Sales Associate (part-time, ~20+ hrs/wk, 1st shift, weekdays) you will provide solutions and easily connect with walk-in customers by using guidance, knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, create customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. Throughout the day, you will need to shift focus from assisting customers to perform a variety of warehouse tasks. You will report to the Store Manager.

You Will:

• Manage the entire customer experience. This includes appropriate product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking product, and safely loading customer vehicle
• Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty
• Adapt communication style to differing audiences in email, over phone, or in person
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders/shipping product
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received
• Help with merchandising and perform showroom replenishment
• Perform inventory countsLearn and easily navigate through different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure branch appearance meets Grainger standards.
• Agree to safety guidelines and comply with all process standards including wearing personal protective equipment

You Have:

• Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation
• Will safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
• Learn and operate powered industrial equipment
