Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Branch Sales Associate to provide solutions for walk-in customers while performing warehouse tasks. You will report to the Branch Manager and help maximize sales, manage orders, and ensure accurate product selection and loading.

Responsibilities include inventory counts, merchandising, and using multiple computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities. A flexible schedule within branch hours is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service and sales is preferred.
• Ability to manage inventory and staging for will-call orders.
• Comfort with using multiple computer systems for orders and warehouse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire customer experience, from product selection to order entry and loading customer vehicles.
• Look for opportunities to maximize sales and encourage loyalty.
• Adapt communication style for email, phone, or in person.
• Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipped products.
• Help with merchandising and showroom replenishment.
• Perform inventory counts and housekeeping to Grainger standards.
• Learn and navigate different warehouse and customer-facing systems.

Compensation

This position is hourly. The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $18.85 and $23.56

As a Branch Sales Associate, you will provide solutions and easily connect with walk-in customers by using guidance, knowledge, and a winning attitude. You will maximize sales opportunities, create customer loyalty, and exceed customer expectations. Throughout the day, you will need to shift focus from assisting customers to performing a variety of warehouse tasks. You will report to the Branch Manager.

You Will

• Manage the entire customer experience. This includes appropriate product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking product, and safely loading customer vehicle
• Look for ways to maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty
• Adapt communication style to differing audiences in email, over phone, or in person
• Pick, prepare, and stage will call orders/shipping product
• Prepare customer backorders and put away other stock received
• Help with merchandising and perform showroom replenishment
• Perform inventory counts
• Learn and easily navigate through different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
• Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure branch appearance meets Grainger standards.
• Agree to safety guidelines and comply with all process standards including wearing personal protective equipment

You Have

• Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation
• Will safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
• Learn and operate powered industrial equipment
