Job summary

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Role

To direct the operations of a small to medium-sized remote bank facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational financial, operational, service, and growth plans.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • E30% Underwrites loans within authorized levels; reviews loan underwriting decisions of subordinate personnel.
  • E15% Directs, develops, motivates, and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
  • E15% Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and insures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • E10% Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings.
  • E10% Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with customers and business, community, and civic organizations, as well as suppliers, other financial institutions, and other similar groups.
  • E5% Controls past due and charged off accounts for the branch.
  • E5% Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established bank policies and procedures.
  • N5% May serve as backup to customer service representative.
  • N5% Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • 2. To meet or exceed annual budgeted operating and growth plan: maintain/improve the financial stability of the branch.
  • 3. To maintain the confidentiality of customer and any other sensitive information.
  • 4. To be punctual and have regular attendance.
  • 5. To maintain and develop a qualified staff sufficient to meet the needs of customers.
  • 6. To keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the branch.
  • 7. To provide friendly, prompt, professional, and accurate service and support to all customers and employees.
  • 8. To have sufficient familiarity with bank products and services to be able to discuss them intelligently with customers and make appropriate recommendations.
  • 9. To help develop the skills and knowledge of department/branch staff; to conduct performance reviews and foster the development of department/branch staff.
  • 10. To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; to comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations.
  • 11. To develop and maintain business partner relationships within the community.
  • 12. To complete required training and undertake additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.
  • 13. To develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department/branch staff.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience

Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education

(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills
  • 1. Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard.
  • 2. Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements

The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or customers and access office machinery and file cabinets. The person in the position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and may require travel to branches and other office buildings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
