Job description

Open the Office. Build the Book. Own the Market.

AFC Transport is opening a new brokerage office in Northwest Arkansas and looking for the person who will build it from the ground up. This isn't a seat-filling hire. We need a Branch Manager who can launch an operation, develop a team, grow a book of business, and create the kind of customer relationships that competitors can't touch.

The Philosophy

At AFC, we don't want to be someone's freight broker. We want to be the call they make for everything.

The best broker relationships aren't built on rates and lanes alone. They're built by becoming indispensable. Need capacity on a tough lane? Of course. But also: need a connection for a fleet purchase? A contact overseas? Someone who knows a guy for literally anything? That's us.

The more categories of a customer's life you insert yourself into through your network and connections, the stickier the relationship becomes. They stop seeing you as a vendor and start seeing you as a resource. That's when you stop competing on price and start winning on trust.

What You'll Do
  • Open and launch AFC's new brokerage office in Northwest Arkansas from scratch
  • Build, hire, train, and lead a team of brokers
  • Develop a book of business through aggressive prospecting and relationship building
  • Create deep, multi-layered customer relationships that go far beyond freight
  • Leverage your personal network and connections to become a one-stop resource for customers
  • Set the culture, pace, and standard for the office from day one
  • Drive revenue growth, gross profit, and load volume targets
  • Manage carrier relationships, pricing strategy, and capacity sourcing
  • Build processes and systems that scale as the office grows
  • Report on performance, pipeline, and growth to AFC leadership
  • Represent AFC in the Northwest Arkansas market as a trusted, connected, high-energy leader
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years in freight brokerage with a proven book of business or history of building one
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing a brokerage team
  • A massive network and the instinct to always be connecting people
  • Entrepreneurial drive: you think like an owner, not an employee
  • Deep understanding of brokerage operations, pricing, carrier management, and customer acquisition
  • High energy, high urgency, and high follow-through
  • Ability to recruit, train, and develop brokers
  • Someone who naturally builds relationships that go beyond business
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to earn trust fast
  • Comfortable building from zero with minimal hand-holding
Who Will Thrive Here

You're the person whose phone never stops because everyone in your world knows you "know a guy." You don't just move freight, you become embedded in your customers' lives. You connect them with people, solve problems they didn't ask you to solve, and make yourself impossible to replace.

You've probably thought about opening your own brokerage. This is that opportunity, with the backing, brand, systems, and support of a growing company behind you.

What Success Looks Like
  • Office is open, staffed, and producing revenue within 90 days
  • Customer relationships are deep, sticky, and growing
  • Your team is hitting volume and margin targets
  • Customers call you first, for freight and for everything else
  • The office becomes a model for future AFC brokerage expansion
  • You've built something you're proud of
Why AFC
  • Build and run your own office with real autonomy
  • Backed by a growing transportation company with asset-based trucking and brokerage
  • Work with leadership that values entrepreneurial thinking and rewards builders
  • Be part of AFC's expansion strategy, not a cog in a machine
  • Compensation structured to reward what you build (base + performance)
