Job summary

City National Bank in Beckley, WV seeks a Branch Manager to oversee branch operations, sales, and customer service in line with corporate policies.

You will lead staff, drive cross-sell programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain security controls while representing the bank in the community.

This role requires 4-6 years in banking or sales, a strong product knowledge, and the ability to coach a team to meet financial goals.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of banking or sales experience.
• Must be compliant with Loan Officer Qualification Requirements of the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act and Regulation Z.
• Work is indoors in environmentally controlled conditions; ability to sit/stand as needed.

Responsibilities

• Exercises executive and administrative control over all sales, servicing and operational functions of a branch office, including implementation of policy and explanation of Bank programs, policies, procedures and objectives
• Establishes goals for branch marketing, operations and sales efforts. Evaluates the effectiveness of branch activity statistics and related reports
• Maintains prescribed security controls to protect the facility; monitors access; opens/closes branch and vault; and remains on 24 hour call in the event of a security breach
• Provides advice, guidance, and back-up support to subordinate personnel
• Assures compliance with bank standards, audit recommendations and relates local, state and federal regulations. Completes required compliance training. Ensures branch compliance in the areas of security, audit, compliance, and operations as evidenced by the completion of the quarterly branch checklist
• Coaches and develops staff to actively sell, refer, deliver and promote the bank’s products and services
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of all the bank’s products and services and a working knowledge of competitive products and services
• Contacts present customers to retain and expand existing banking relationships. Counsels customers on financial and related matters and handles difficult customers
• Represents the company at various civic and community functions to further enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business
• Oversees and recommends training and development of branch personnel; facilitates staff meetings to communicate branch objectives, goals, and policies; and coaches individual employees as needed
• Exercises usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisal, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations
• Adheres to all regulatory compliance policies and procedures

Summary Description

Position Standards

• Achieves cross sell ratios for new customers and existing customers
• Achieves referral goals, high value client sales call goals and deposit dollar goals
• Maintains 90% collection of bank fees
• The banker will be expected to achieve the targeted annual volume of retail loan production
  

Position Requirements

• 4-6 years of banking or sales experience
• General knowledge of the financial service’s industry products/services
• Must be compliant with Loan Officer Qualification Requirements of the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act and Regulation Z. Compliance includes a review of the candidate’s financial responsibility, character, and general fitness prior to placement in the role and within 30 days of employment compliance with NMLS registration and corresponding background check requirements.
• Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
• Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
