Job summary

Tyler, TX-based financial institution is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to supervise operations, sales, consumer lending and staff at a local branch. The role combines hands-on leadership with loan processing oversight and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Manage a team of approximately 4-6 employees.
  • Establish branch goals and hold employees accountable for achieving performance objectives.
  • Monitor branch performance against established goals and budgets.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Ensure established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed.
  • Provide members and prospective members with professional and responsive service.
  • Perform and oversee consumer lending and loan processing activities.
  • Manage tellers and consumer lending personnel.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop branch employees.
  • Identify employee training needs and implement appropriate development plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and establish individual employee goals.
  • Address performance issues and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels and help control employee turnover.
  • Analyze branch performance and operational reports and take corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable banking, credit union, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of BSA policies and procedures and identify/report suspicious activity when applicable.
  • Ensure the branch is prepared for audits and examinations and address findings appropriately.
  • Promote products and services and identify opportunities to increase member relationships.
  • Support strategic objectives and initiatives established by the organization.
  • Conduct branch meetings and communicate policy, procedural, and organizational updates.
  • Assist employees and members as needed.
  • Manage special projects and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Represent the organization professionally within the local community.

About The Opportunity

One of our clients is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to oversee the operations, sales, consumer lending, and staff of a branch location in Tyler, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail banking and consumer lending, combined with proven experience managing branch employees and branch operations. This is a hands-on leadership position where the Branch Manager is responsible not only for branch performance and staff management, but also for consumer lending and loan processing activities. The position requires 45+ hours per week, occasional travel, and regular participation in networking and after-hours community events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a small to mid-sized credit union or community bank.
  • Previous experience managing a full-service branch rather than serving solely as a teller supervisor, key holder, or assistant-level supervisor.
  • Experience overseeing both consumer lending and teller/branch operations.
  • Two-year college degree or equivalent specialized education/training.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work 45+ hours per week.
  • Ability to work fully on-site/in-office.
  • Willingness to participate in occasional travel and regular networking or after-hours events.
