Job summary

Pacific Seafood in Renton is seeking a Branch Manager to lead a distribution-focused team, drive budgeted sales, margins and profitability, and partner with the General Manager on operations and strategic growth.

You will manage daily branch activities, oversee safety and compliance, and work to optimize costs while cultivating key accounts and a high-performance team. This role reports to Kevin Hert and resides in Renton.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Preferred: Prior experience in the food industry.
  • Prior Operations, Sales and Purchasing experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor branch team to achieve budgeted sales, margin and profitability goals.
  • Administer safety, cost control, and regulatory compliance across the branch.
  • Assist General Manager with production coordination, budgeting and cost-control strategies.
  • Drive growth opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support implementation of company policies and safety initiatives.

Summary: A Branch Manager will successfully achieve budgeted sales, margin, and profitability goals for the branch market by assisting the General Manager in all aspects of processing, distribution, and to establish a strong team within the market. As part of the management team and a servant leader, you will manage the branch team members, sales and operations functions, financial performance, key accounts, and targeted growth opportunities by removing obstacles to exceed budgeted targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership:
    • Be a role model in demonstrating The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) at all times
    • Support the development of high standards for managers/supervisors by providing assignments that showcase performance and provide growth opportunities with regular feedback
    • Provide strong leadership, clear direction, ongoing training, and continuous development to team members, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
    • Assist in setting, tracking, and evaluating performance metrics to ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds expectations.
  2. Business Administration:
    • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations by conducting regular inspections of equipment, processes, and workplace conditions, fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
    • Actively manage and reduce operational costs, including labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses, particularly within a cross-dock logistics setting.
    • Support the General Manager in coordinating production activities in line with company policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in promoting and enforcing company-wide safety initiatives aimed at eliminating unsafe behaviors and achieving zero-injury workplace goals.
    • Implement employment policies and guidelines in alignment with Pacific Seafood policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Assist in directing and managing all sales and operations with responsibilities for growing market share, customer base and financial profitability.
    • Assist in the development and management of budgets, profit plans, and cost-control strategies to optimize the efficient use of materials, equipment, and workforce resources.
  4. Strategic Growth:
    • Respond effectively and professionally to sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, partners, and team members, ensuring timely resolution and fostering positive relationships.
    • Oversee fundamental sales processes and implement improvement to provide business development, customer requirements, and market growth

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member:

  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday during regular working hours, with occasional weekend duties.
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position 80% of the time, with intermittent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and/or crawling.
  • Ability to move and transport documents, equipment, or other items weighing up to 50 pounds across various locations for different team members, departments, and events.
  • Capable of occasional travel as required by duties, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness in diverse locations.
  • Capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • Capable of frequently communicating with team members and stakeholders, accurately conveying detailed or important spoken instructions.
  • Capable of perceiving visuals for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and engaging in extensive reading.
