You will oversee day‑to‑day branch operations, direct department managers, and ensure policies are followed to drive growth and profitability across trucks, parts, and service.

• Direct truck sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the branch.
• Establish short and long‑term operating and financial objectives within the company plans.
• Ensure policies and objectives are understood and applied throughout the branch.
• Formulate annual and monthly business plans, sales/profit objectives and expense budgets.
• Develop merchandising strategies with department managers to achieve objectives; supervise sale of trucks, parts, and service.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain communications within departments; conduct required conferences.
• Establish and maintain customer relations; arbitrate between customers and managers when needed.
• Develop, train, and evaluate department managers; recommend compensation changes.
• Ensure the branch structure is efficiently staffed.

Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Branch Manager. The role of the Branch Manager is to be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the branch in compliance with established policies and procedures. The Branch Manager plans, directs, and controls all activities of the branch profit centers through department managers who in turn are responsible for the overall growth and profit objectives of their respective departments. Responsibilities include staffing and training department managers, formulating major objectives, specific policies, plans, procedures, and programs for the branch operations, and evaluating each department's operating results against pre‑determined objectives. The Branch Manager consults with department managers on personnel decisions, assists with major or critical accounts, and maintains relations with customers and the public.

• Ensures approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout the branch.
• Formulates annual and monthly business plans, sales/profit objectives and expense budgets with the department manager in accordance with company objectives.
• Develops merchandising strategies with department managers to ensure objectives are obtained; supervises sale of trucks, parts, and service.
• Ensures the branch is in compliance with local, state, and federal governmental regulations.
• Maintains appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas within the branch; holds individual conferences as required.
• Establishes and maintains satisfactory customer and public relations; serves as final arbitrator between customers and department managers when needed.
• Develops, trains, and evaluates department managers; recommends compensation changes in accordance with company policy.
• Ensures the organizational structure of the branch is efficiently planned and adequately staffed.
• Promotes safe work habits and ensures that safety rules are followed.
