Job summary

Fehr Graham seeks a Branch Manager for our East Peoria, IL office to lead operations, nurture client relationships and drive project success. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, align with senior leaders, and ensure growth opportunities for the office and staff.

You will manage contracts, develop business opportunities, mentor staff, and maintain compliance with engineering regulations while delivering value to clients and sustaining profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 8+ years of experience in supervision, client relations, business development or project management.
  • Experience in the consulting industry.
  • Track record of successfully managing projects and people.
  • Strong client relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations affecting engineering projects.
  • Professional license in your discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations and support the people in East Peoria.
  • Develop market opportunities and client strategies with other managers and leaders.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and prospective clients, including key decision-makers.
  • Manage projects from contract through completion, keeping scope, schedule, budget and invoicing on track.
  • Prepare client contracts, statements of qualifications and fee proposals.
  • Understand client needs, solve complex problems and add value for clients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate resources across the firm.
  • Monitor branch and project performance, including net revenue and profitability.
  • Communicate technical and business issues clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Stay current on market trends and share insights with the team.
  • Represent Fehr Graham at client meetings and industry events.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor and develop staff.

Compensation: $140,000 - $180,000 / year

This is not a role that is only about managing people or projects. You'll lead the branch, stay close to clients, manage projects and help identify where Fehr Graham can grow. You'll work with our Business Unit Leaders, President and other leaders across the firm to turn strategy into action.

What you'll do

What it takes

You'll be a strong fit if you have a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and at least eight years of experience in staff supervision, client relations, business development or project management. You'll also bring:

  • Experience in the consulting industry.
  • A track record of successfully managing projects and people.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of federal, state and local regulations related to engineering projects.
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with clients and coworkers.
  • A genuine interest in coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
  • A professional license in your discipline is preferred.
