Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Branch Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales and balance margins while upholding safety and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Proven managerial experience in customer-facing ops with P&L and KPIs.
  • People leadership with focus on growth, coaching, mentoring and development.
  • Skilled at aligning complex customer relationships and supporting DC ops.
  • Retail or industrial distribution background.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs; up to 125 lbs with handling equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills; eager to learn new digital tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on team success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The Branch Manager oversees daily store operations to achieve or advance sales and margin goals. This involves promoting sales, delivering excellent customer service, nurturing inventory levels, and balancing expenses through purchase supporting. Additionally, the Branch Manager fosters facility and staff alignment to safety and regulatory standards, empowering team members in providing efficient customer service, maintaining good housekeeping, and harmonizing overall operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Proven managerial experience in a customer-facing environment, coupled with demonstrated expertise in Profit and Loss (P&L) management and the strategic use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance.
  • Valued experience in people leadership with a dedication to supporting team growth and alignment, coaching, mentoring, and team development.
  • Skill in fostering alignment within complex customer relationships and guiding and supporting distribution center operations.
  • Background in supporting and leading teams within aretail or industrial distribution environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Proficientcomputer skills and an interest in learning new digital tools.
  • The ability to navigatemultiple priorities concurrently.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on contributing to the overall team's success.
  • Excellentverbal and written communication skills to effectively act as a bridge between staff and management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in sales with atrack record of meaningful contributions and experience in the welding industry.
  • Experience withinventory cultivationandvendor relationshipsupport.
  • Computer experience or basic knowledge of SAP.
