Job summary

Evergreen Federal Bank seeks a Branch Manager for our Ashland branch to lead a full-service team and ensure excellent customer service and daily operations.

You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, and ensure compliance with CIP, BSA, and applicable laws while engaging with the local community to promote the Bank’s offerings and stability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 4+ years of management experience with at least one year in banking.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to supervise, train and develop branch staff while driving performance and service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead branch staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Provide friendly customer service and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and staff development to meet branch goals.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and security in daily transactions.
  • Oversee compliance with CIP, BSA and relevant laws and bank policies.
  • Engage with the community and participate in branch outreach events.

We are currently accepting applications for Branch Manager in our Ashland branch office.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Branch Manager is responsible for providing supervision and leadership direction for staff to provide efficient daily operation of a full-service branch office. This includes operations, customer service, security and safety in accordance with the Bank's objectives. The Branch Manager will ensure adequate staffing levels and staff development and actively participate in the delivery of all financial services provided by the bank.Essential functions of this position are as follows:

  • Provide friendly, courteous and professional communication support to customers in person, as well as respond to incoming telephone calls, electronic mail and voice mail.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance branch team by setting expectations to accomplish goals and objectives of the bank.
  • Provide teller and new accounts relief as necessary to ensure excellent customer service by handling monetary transactions for customers, (i.e. deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, opening new accounts, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate cash handling in the service to our customers and minimize time and effort to locate outages.
  • Manages the selection, placement, performance, development, and termination of branch staff.
  • Manage scheduling, prioritize workflow and assign staff to cover customer traffic and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide supervision and training for all staff in areas of operations and conduct staff meetings.
  • Provide products and services education, assistance, research, support, and problem resolution in a professional and timely manner to our customers and employees.
  • Monitor staff job performance in your area of responsibility and make recommendations regarding job performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Adhere to bank security policy and procedures and be responsible for testing, maintenance and operation of security devices.
  • Ensure that branch staff follows internal policies and procedures, Bank's CIP, BSA and related security procedures plus any pertinent State or Federal laws and regulations.
  • Attend Operational meetings as required.
  • Performs special projects or other duties as directed by senior management.
  • Maintain all required documentation to meet compliance and procedural standards.
  • Schedule and occasionally perform collateral inspections on construction loans and direct disbursement of funds.
  • Ensure the branch and surrounding area are kept clean, professional and free of unwanted trash and debris.
  • Provide support and/or work at alternate locations when requested and required to do so
  • The Branch Manager is expected to participate in community affairs to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new and existing opportunities.

Eligibility

  • Thorough understanding of deposit products and bank services.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of staff supervision and performance management and the ability to develop staff through coaching, training opportunities and mentorship.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Additionally, it is preferred to have a minimum four years of management experience with at least one year in banking.

Physical demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Be able to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Be able to move/transport up to 30 lbs.
  • Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, scanner, and other standard office equipment.
  • The work primarily performed in this position is done within an indoor, climate-controlled environment.
  • Occasional work in outdoor weather conditions.
