Job summary

Bgctc is seeking a Branch Director at the Rochester Branch in Rochester, WA. This leadership role oversees staff, youth programs, and community relations to advance the organization’s mission.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a key supervisory position providing leadership for the staff, kids, families, and supporters in the local community. The Branch Director must work independently and bring the appropriate staffing and resources to the Club to support the mission and overall program. Branch directors train staff appropriately to implement programming for youth, leaving them to focus primarily on Club operations; regular communication with Club families; cultivating community support; marketing Boys & Girls Club programs to youth, families, and community members; and providing leadership and planning expertise.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
  • Establish Club programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and create a Club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Train staff to implement and lead programs and foster positive relationship-building between staff/volunteers and youth.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment by maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for Club staff and volunteers.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Interact regularly with Area Director, Director of Personnel & Training, and Club staff.
  • Support and communicate with other administrative office employees.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and training as assigned and in support of the Club.
Management of Club Operations
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate Club programs, services and activities (through appropriate staffing) to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
  • De-escalate incidents and provide intervention support for members using positive behavior intervention support techniques.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with Club members and families. Additionally, communicate incidents involving youth with appropriate adult caregiver(s) as outlined in the organization’s safety policies.
  • Implement strategies to support the social, emotional, and educational development of club members.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to club members, promoting positive behavior and personal growth.
  • Manage staff schedules and Club payroll. Ensure maintenance of appropriate record keeping.
  • Manage daily administrative tasks, including finance reconciliation, program reporting, and documentation of incidents.
  • Conduct monthly safety drills for youth and staff.
Strategic Planning & Fiscal Management
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate Club programs, services and activities (through appropriate staffing) to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and implement plans for improvements.
  • Compile reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
  • Manage Club financial resources: and assist in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget.
  • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Club's physical properties and equipment, including outside groups' use of facilities. Ensure compliance with organization policies.
  • Seek, solicit, and cultivate other sources of income – through sponsorships, partnered events and donations from individuals and corporate sources – in support of budgeted Club operating expenses.
  • Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
Marketing and Community Engagement
  • Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.
  • Maintain contact and build relationships with Club families and school staff.
  • Act as a liaison between BGCTC and the local community, building strong partnerships to enhance program offerings.
  • Participate in community events and groups.
  • Ensure the development and use of promotional materials that foster high respect for the organization.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders, and community organizations.
  • Work with staff on countywide special programs and events to further the organizational mission supporting all departments.
Other Responsibilities
  • Assume other tasks, assignments, and responsibilities as needed or directed.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college/university AND/OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of personnel.
  • Excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
  • Skills in fundraising efforts and/or events.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents, and community leaders.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications (course available upon hire).
  • Must pass local and national background check and pre-employment drug screening (in accordance with RCW 49.44.240).
