Job summary

Monterey County Office Of Education is seeking a Braille Transcriber (Itinerant VI) in Special Education in Salinas, CA. The role supports visually impaired students by translating materials into braille, large print, and audio, under the supervision of a TVI.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent with additional education/training in braille or related areas, and experience with special needs. Valid CA license and certifications are required; travel within the district is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or equivalent and 48 semester units or higher education OR associate’s or higher degree.
• Specialized training for braille, sign language, etc.
• Experience with individuals with special needs and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing educational materials into braille, large print, and audio formats.
• Provide instructional support for visually impaired students under the TVI guidance.
