Job summary

The position spans Fall/Winter/Spring with responsibilities across practices, meets, and travel. The assistant coach will analyze opponents, assess athlete performance, and assist in developing game strategies under the Head Coach.

Qualifications

• SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; administering first aid; applying pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; organizing and communicating information and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes opposition’s strategies to develop game plan.
• Assesses student athletes for performance feedback and team placement.
• Attends meetings, workshops, conferences to receive and convey information.
• Develops components of game strategies for Head Coach approval.
• Evaluates facilities for hazards and recommends safety improvements.
• Instructs student athletes to promote growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Maintains records (statistics, permissions, schedules, inventories).
• Monitors academic eligibility and intervenes as needed to maintain eligibility.
• Promotes athletic program through clinics, camps, community outreach.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, staff, media, and college reps.
• Supervises athletes during all participation phases for safety.
