Job summary

Eugene School District 4J is seeking an assistant coach for the 2026/27 season to support planning, development, and implementation of the interscholastic athletics program. This role works under the head coach to organize the athletic program to meet district needs and participant goals.

The position requires knowledge of the sport, adherence to school and league rules, and the ability to coach and build team spirit while protecting student well-being and privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Red Cross First Aid Certificate with CPR.
• Concussion management and OSAA training completed.
• Successful completion of district background checks.
• Valid Oregon Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, development, and implementation of program policies and procedures.
• Support the head coach in organizing and conducting athletic programs.
• Provide training through motivational coaching techniques to improve individuals and groups.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA/FERPA and educator standards.
• Ensure compliance with state/regional rules (ORS/OAR) and safety guidelines.
