Proviso West High School is seeking a Boys Soccer Assistant Coach (Sophomore) to assist the Head Coach with planning, implementing, and evaluating drills, conditioning, and skill development for student-athletes in a safe, inclusive program.
The ideal candidate will hold an Illinois teaching certificate or IHSA/NFHS ASEP certification, complete CPR/AED and concussion training, and work under the Athletic Director and building principal to foster a positive team culture and athletic growth.

Stipend: $6,076.52

FLSA Status: Extra Duty/Stipend Position Position Overview: This position is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating all facets of the for the sport, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and development-focused environment for student-athletes. The coach will work closely with students, faculty, administrators, and parents to implement a comprehensive and competitive program. Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the coach assumes responsibility for the program, fostering a positive and disciplined team culture. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively within the school community. A successful track record in teaching and coaching is expected.
This stipend position is a non-tenure, extra-duty assignment contingent upon sufficient student enrollment, program approval, and available funding. It is not subject to continued renewal and may be discontinued at the district's discretion. It is exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Stipends are not calculated based on hours worked and are considered payment for duties performed outside the regular instructional day. Subject to satisfactory criminal background clearance and drug screening as required by Illinois School Code and District policy. This is an at-will, extra-duty appointment and may be discontinued at the District's discretion.
