Job summary

Glenbard West High School, part of Glenbard Township High School District 87, seeks an Assistant Coach for Boys Lacrosse to support the head coach and foster athletic excellence among student athletes. The role requires coordination with school staff and adherence to IHSA rules while promoting sportsmanship and academic growth among players.

The position reports to the Assistant Principal for Athletics and entails supervision of practices, equipment, and transportation, with a focus on

Qualifications

• IHSA Coaching Certification including CPR/AED training and understanding of substance misuse, concussion, hate speech and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach to create a competitive athletic environment for student athletes.
• Help supervise equipment issuance and collection.
• Supervise practice, contests, locker rooms, and transport of athletes to events.
• Complete necessary paperwork on time and respond to information requests from the athletic office.
• Promote team and individual achievements to media and school audiences.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, conference, and IHSA rules.
