Job summary

Lafayette Central Catholic is seeking a Boys Junior Varsity Baseball Coach to guide student-athletes in skill development, team tactics, and competitive performance. The role emphasizes clear communication, role-model conduct, and alignment with the school’s Catholic mission.

You will plan and oversee practices and offseason workouts, maintain facilities, and collaborate with staff, parents, and medical personnel to ensure athlete well-being and success.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and professionally with players, parents, coaches and administration
• Plan and oversee organized practices, competition and offseason workouts
• Assist with routine field preparation and maintenance of baseball facilities
• Be appropriate role model for student-athletes, parents, families, LCC staff, opponents, and community
• Promote our Catholic values and live out the mission of Lafayette Central Catholic High School
• Foster initiative, self-discipline, teamwork, loyalty, courage, leadership, and the commitment to excellence to Lafayette Central Catholic High School athletes
• Work cooperatively and develop rapport with administration, teachers, coaching staff, players, and community
• Use sound proven methods of coaching and display knowledge and innovation of tennis
• Comply with all aspects of coaching handbook
• Clearly communicate with individual/team about goals, performance, and progress
• Develop and maintain a competitive environment
• Instruct individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in baseball
• Communicate and work with medical personnel and parents involving injuries to athletes
• Maintain accurate statistics, records, and results of the season
• Report and record results in a timely manner
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes
• Maintain competency in rules, rule interpretations, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of baseball, IHSAA and Hoosier Conference
• Comply with pre-season, in-season, and post-season expectations set forth by the Head Varsity coach or outlined in coaching handbook
• Develop a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school to inform the parents and team in regards to the junior varsity team
• Exhibit acceptable personal conduct and appearance before, during, and after game
• Attend clinics when possible
• Participate actively in other athletic, professional, and school activities
• Other duties assigned by the Athletic Director / Principal
