Job Duties and Expectations

• All head coaches and assistant coaches report directly to the Athletic Director and are responsible for administering all levels of their sport.
• Coaches provide clear communication with student‑athletes and families, establishing expectations and philosophy, and are available to resolve conflicts at appropriate times, avoiding conflict immediately before or after contests.
• Coaches assist in the total development of student‑athletes through positive methods, fostering growth in both life and athletic journeys.
• Coaches create and implement meaningful practice structures that enhance instruction, development, and effective use of time for all team members.
• Coaches evaluate student‑athletes holistically, considering skill, character, integrity, leadership, coaching ability, and love for the sport, and incorporate student‑driven mid‑ and post‑season reviews.

Team Leadership

Coaches foster an environment that develops positive leadership qualities on and off the field. They select Team Captains and Student‑Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members based on character and leadership ability, not athletic performance. Coaches adhere to the chain of command and uphold the Mission of the school.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at the middle school, high school, college, or club level.
• Experience working, playing, or coaching in a value‑based athletic program.
• Reliable, prompt, and dependable.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a full background check.
• Eligible under the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance; we will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Salary

Salary Range: $2,000 – $5,000 depending on experience and team level.
