Job summary

The School District of Lee County at Island Coast High in Cape Coral, Florida is seeking a Basketball Assistant Coach (Boys) to assist with practices, game planning, and skill development for student-athletes.

Requirements include coaching experience, a Florida teaching certificate or DOE coaching certificate, FHSAA certification, CPR/First Aid, and a Florida driver’s license. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience in basketball.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
• Valid FHSAA certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Florida driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting regular practice sessions.
• Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and rules to student-athletes.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and trips.
• Promote discipline, responsibility and sportsmanship; ensure compliance with regulations.
