Job summary

Rochester School District is seeking a qualified basketball coach to assist the varsity program, providing guidance, leadership, and skill development for student-athletes. The role includes supervising athletes at practices and events, ensuring safety, and upholding district rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will maintain current knowledge of game rules, engage with families and staff, and participate in ongoing coaching clinics to improve techniques and team management.

Qualifications

• Must maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and community.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing coursework and clinics to improve knowledge.
• Must pass a state and federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the varsity coach.
• Provide guidance, leadership, and fundamental skills to execute the program.
• Provide positive learning experiences in the sports program.
• Supervise athletes before/during/after practices, games, travel and events.
• Maintain knowledge of all relevant rules and regulations.
• Teach and emphasize safety procedures daily.
• Lead team organization, play style, practice schedules, and equipment responsibilities.
• Report violations to Head Coach and Athletic Director within 24 hours.
