Job summary

Fitchburg Public Schools in Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant Coach I (Level 2) for Boys Basketball. You will work under the Head Coach to support practices and games, promote safety, sportsmanship, and active community involvement.

You will interact with student-athletes, families, staff, and the community; you must complete background checks and trainings annually, and be present for weekend activities.

Responsibilities

• Coaches for practices and games under the Head Coach.
• Care for the entire program, including safety and equipment inventory.
• Communicate with the Head Coach about incidents involving student-athletes or parents.
• Promote academics and monitor eligibility of student-athletes.
• Maintain sportsmanship and behavior in competition, classroom, and community.
• Assist with team communications, rosters, and season statistics.
• Help plan and direct the overall sports program and tryouts.
• Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices/events.
• Attend coaching meetings and evaluate progress toward athlete development.
• Support fundraising and community engagement.
