• Understanding of and agreement with district goals for athletics.
• Knowledge of coaching techniques and student conduct policies.
• Familiar with care and treatment of athletic injuries.
• Coaches must be certified by the Arizona Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Coach athletes in skills necessary for successful performance.
• Provide a positive learning environment for athletes.
• Plan and schedule a regular practice program in season per district policy and AIA regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training and events.
• Assist athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
• Recommend equipment and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain records (attendance, insurance, accident reports).
• Ensure safety of facilities during practice and events.
