Job summary

Carter Lumber in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Delivery Specialist to transport orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will meet daily delivery schedules while delivering friendly, professional customer service.

If delivery volumes slow, you may help in the Yard to reach weekly hours goals. The role emphasizes teamwork, a customer-service mindset, and familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience with large items (building materials, cabinets, doors, etc.)
• Valid driving record; certain states require specific licenses
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment

Description

As one of our Delivery Specialists, you will be responsible for transporting orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will ensure that daily delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you have the opportunity to help in the Yard to ensure you reach your weekly hours goal.

Requirements

• Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, cabinets, doors, windows, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
• An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
• Ability to be a team player
• A friendly, customer-service-driven personality
