Job summary

Maersk is seeking a box truck driver in Spokane, WA to operate a box truck on local and regional routes, pick up and deliver goods, and secure cargo for transit. You will inspect vehicles, complete documentation, and communicate with customers and dispatch to manage delays and changes.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, following DOT rules, and maintaining accurate records. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required with acceptable driving record.
  • Experience in box truck delivery preferred.
  • Ability to read maps and use navigation tools.
  • Accurate completion of delivery docs and records.
  • Strong customer service, communication and problem solving.
  • Attention to safety and detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules.
  • English reading/writing/speaking required.
  • Must pass Federal background checks for access to facilities.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a box truck on assigned local and regional routes.

  • Basic hand tool usage and assembly skills

  • Pick up and deliver products, packages, equipment, or materials according to assigned routes and schedules.

  • Load, unload, and secure cargo to prevent shifting, loss, or damage during transit.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety issues.

  • Follow applicable traffic laws, DOT regulations, company policies, and customer-site requirements.

  • Maintain accurate delivery records, receipts, inspection documents, and other required paperwork.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and leadership regarding deliveries, delays, route changes, and vehicle issues.

  • Verify orders, freight condition, and delivery quantities before completing deliveries.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle and work area.

  • Assist with warehouse, material-handling, or loading duties when required.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid driver's license (REAL ID) and acceptable driving record required.

  • Previous box truck, delivery, or commercial driving experience preferred.

  • Ability to read maps, use navigation tools, and maintain general geographic awareness.

  • Ability to accurately complete delivery documentation and operational records.

  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

  • Must be able to pass Federal background checks for access to Military and Gov’t facilities.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent entering and exiting of the vehicle, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift and move products weighing up to 75 lbs. unassisted and safely load, unload, and secure freight.

Safety Expectations

Employees are expected to comply with all company safety policies, applicable DOT requirements, OSHA standards, TSA requirements where applicable, and customer-site safety rules. Employees must immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, cargo damage, and regulatory concerns.

Pay : $25.00 per hour

*The above stated pay is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm (Saturday when needed)
