Job summary

Parts Authority is seeking a full-time Box Truck Driver to load, transport and deliver parts to customers in a timely, friendly manner across local routes. The role requires a current, valid driver's license and at least 1 year of verifiable Class C bobtail driving experience.

You will review orders, follow dispatch directions, and maintain safety and vehicle checks while providing excellent customer service and adhering to all regulations. Weekend work is expected.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver's license.
• Able to work weekends.
• Minimum of 1 year verifiable Class C Bobtail truck driving experience.
• Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers 21+).
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds; up to 75 lbs for certain tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a timely, friendly manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
• Watch gauges and indicators to ensure truck is functioning properly.
• Follow dispatcher directions, routes, and time schedules; use navigation apps as needed.
• Assist with loading/unloading and provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain a safe driving record and comply with transportation laws.
• Handle payments, prepare reports, and reconcile money related to deliveries.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle and report issues.
• Assist in other store/warehouse duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure that the bobtail truck is working properly.
• Take and follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, follow time schedules, use route navigation apps, alternative routes, when necessary and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time.
• Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at customers' place of business.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns from customers.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports to include invoices, return forms, reconcile debt and credit and all moneys collected related to deliveries.
• When applicable, complete daily maintenance checks on company delivery vehicle and notify manager of any issues.
• Assist in any and all other store/ warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling etc.) as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain and promote workplace safety
• Securing and transferring cash or other assets.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver's license
• Able to work weekends.
• Minimum of 1 year verifiable Class C Bobtail truck driving experience.
• Must be able to meet company insurance requirements- (drivers must be 21 years old or over)
• Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds, prolonged sitting (Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must be able to lift 75 lbs )

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances
• Ability to utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for purposes of navigation/ route optimization, tracking and customer interface/ signature capture
• Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively, professionally, with tact and diplomacy
• Ability to take and follow directions and work well with others as part of team
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed preferred
• Knowledge of principles and methods for moving freight and materials.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state and national laws.
• Knowledge of laws, EPA regulations, DOT regulations, and OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of identifying potential safety risks ahead of time.
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
• You must meet all of the above minimum "Requirements and Qualifications" and "Knowledge, Skills and Abilities" to be eligible to drive for Parts Authority****
