Job summary

A building materials supplier in Louisiana is looking for an Experienced Chauffeur's Driver. The role involves delivering lumber, building materials, and other merchandise to customer sites. Candidates must have a valid Class 'D' driver’s license, at least 5 years of driving experience, and the ability to safely navigate delivery routes. Responsibilities include maintaining delivery records, loading vehicles, and general warehouse duties as needed. This is a physical role requiring lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job description

We are looking for an Experienced Chauffeur's Driver. Drivers will delivery lumber, building materials, millworks and other merchandise to customers site and our other locations. Must be at least 21 years old and 5 years driving experience.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick up route for the day.
• Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.
• Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary.
• Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must maintain an active Class "D" license and Medical Card

• Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
