Box Truck Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)

Position Overview

The Box Truck Driver is expected to be an enthusiastic individual who is extremely customer service oriented. The Driver will make deliveries and pick-ups in our 26’ box trucks equipped with lift gates. Drivers are required to remove electronics from businesses and organizations. This position is labor intensive and supports the warehouse production team when not driving or on the road. This position will be on the road between one to two nights per week. Overtime is expected in this position.

Our Ideal candidate is not afraid of working hard on a daily basis. The Box Truck Driver will go to our customer sites to prep and pack the equipment for transportation. Our driver will be expected to do the “heavy lifting” for the customer. Driving experience and overnight travel are required. This role reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Will require weekly overnight travel. Can expect to be out of town between 1 to two nights per week.
  • The driver loads/unloads the assigned truck and prepares for the route for that day.
  • Drives the route based on the information provided by the Operations Manager and/or Client services Team.
  • Locates material at the pick-up site. Pack material (palletize, wrap, and/or load into gaylord boxes.) Load material onto the truck.
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Ensuring that the box truck is fully equipped and in proper working condition prior to departure and after arrival, conducting pre‑and post‑checks.
  • Leads and assists driver’s assistants with the removal and stocking of electronics at a customer location.
  • Ensures the security and safety of material and data through the full transportation cycle including customer prep, packaging and pickup, loading, transport, delivery, and warehouse unloading while following all proper procedures and appropriate use of all required equipment and security devices: e.g. padlocks, etc.
  • Ensures that all the client’s needs are met in a professional and courteous manner: i.e. calling clients ahead of schedule to let them know when you will arrive, etc.
  • Complete all related paperwork in a timely manner.

While not driving, the driver will be expected to work in the warehouse assisting with all production processes, including but not limited to:

  • Unpack, prepare and sort material or products for recycling, resale or destruction.
  • Shred electronic material.
  • Track inventory and perform inventory counts.
  • Prepare, pack and ship items sold via resale channels.
  • Clean recycling area by sweeping, raking, or picking up various types of debris including metal, dirt, and trash.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
  • Assist with light refurbishing of devices.

The following conditions can be expected in this role:

  • Frequent use of hand and air tools to dismantle electronics, which requires frequent use of hand, wrists, elbow, upper arms, and shoulders.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold climates.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push 1000 lbs. using a pallet jack.
  • Must always use and/or wear the required safety equipment.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, odors, grease, metal, wet/hot conditions, and noise throughout the shift.
