Job summary

Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Security Administrator II to provide boundary protection support for AFNET resources at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex. This is a full-time position based in Montgomery, AL.

The role requires 5+ years of network administration experience, Security+ and one of the following certs: Palo Alto Networks PSC or PCCNA/PCNSA; CCNA; PCNSE. Candidates must be US citizens with a current Secret clearance and be able to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in network administration and support.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Must be Security+ certified.
• Must hold one of: Palo Alto Network Security Professional; CCNA; and PCNSA.
• Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall Engineer and/or PCNSE certifications desired.
• Experience with enterprise DOD boundary protection and CSSP operations.
• Extensive experience with enterprise level network architectures and configurations.
• Solid customer service and communication skills are critical and the ability to communicate effectively in an empathetic manner.
• Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, configure, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, harden, maintain, and operate intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, load balancers, and web proxies to protect AFNet resources from DoD security standards.
• Perform complex analytics on boundary protection systems to protect system assets from compromise, data loss, and other requirements.
• Perform DCO and DODIN operations.
