Job summary

Gabletek Robotics and Controls Solutions in Troy, MI seeks an experienced Boring Mill Operator/Programmer to set up, program, and run horizontal boring mills on large, high-precision parts from setup through inspection.

You will read blueprints with GD&T, select tooling, prove out programs, and maintain quality while meeting cycle times; familiarity with Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain controls is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience running horizontal boring mills and setup experience.
• Ability to program at the control (G and M code); CAM experience is a plus.
• Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls preferred.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Comfortable working with large parts, overhead cranes, and rigging.
• Able to work independently and own a job from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring mills on large weldments, castings, and fabrications.
• Write and edit programs at the control, and prove out new programs
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to plan setups and machining sequences
• Indicate, square, and fixture large workpieces for accurate setups
• Select tooling, set offsets, and adjust speeds and feeds for best results
• Inspect parts with micrometers and bore gauges to verify tolerances
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust to maintain quality and cycle time
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve print issues

We're hiring an experienced Boring Mill Operator/Programmer for a manufacturing shop in Troy. You'll set up, program, and run horizontal boring mills on large, high precision parts, from setup through final inspection.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring mills on large weldments, castings, and fabrications
• Write and edit programs at the control, and prove out new programs
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to plan setups and machining sequences
