Qualifications

One year of general work experience that demonstrates ability to take charge and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.
A bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement based on class standing, GPA, or honor society.

Responsibilities

Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband.
Perform farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols and transportation checks.
Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various assets to accomplish the USBP mission.
