Job summary

Customs and Border Protection’s U.S. Border Patrol is hiring full-time, career Law Enforcement Officers. Newly appointed agents may qualify for higher-graded opportunities based on prior LEO experience, with incentives of up to $60,000 and potential promotions after training.

Duty locations include various sectors across the Southwest and beyond, with locality pay and overtime up to 25%. Applicants must be a U.S.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience or equivalent
• U.S. citizenship and residency requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances and complete training

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations
• Perform border patrol duties including surveillance, patrolling, and enforcing immigration and customs laws
• Respond to incidents, apprehend violators, and gather evidence for criminal cases
