Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Register, GA is seeking a paint line/operator to control paint operations, including robots, start/stop of line per production plan, and ensure quality along the line.

You will monitor process parameters, inspect spray patterns, maintain equipment, and participate in root-cause analysis for defects while adhering to safety and 5S standards and PPE usage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand, walk on varied surfaces for long shifts.
  • 2 years manufacturing and paint application experience preferred.
  • Understanding spray patterns and how to read work orders.
  • Familiar with operating power tools and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate paint line and robots to apply coats per plan.
  • Monitor process parameters to meet production and quality standards.
  • Inspect spray patterns and paint quality using wet layer booths.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on paint equipment and robots.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis for paint defects and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized line and 5S standards.
  • Support weekend/night projects and emergency maintenance when needed.

Job description

Job Details: Job Location: Register, GA 30452, RESPONSIBILITES
  • Previous automotive paint experience is preferred.
  • Controls paint operation and equipment (including robots)
  • Monitor and maintain the process parameters ensuring production standards, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
  • Utilize the ‘wet layer inspection’ booths to inspect spay patterns, coverage, and to ensure paint quality.
  • Analyzes and corrects deviations in such a way that equipment OEE is improved.
  • Deploys paints standards during the production shift.
  • Starts and stops the paint line according to production plan and safety rules.
  • Checks quality and conformity of the application process according to quality requirements and procedures
  • Applies maintenance procedures for robots and all paint equipment (guns, atomizers, jigs…)
  • Minimizes stops of the paint line process.
  • Contributes to root cause analysis in the case of paint defects, collaborates with process team to set up action plan, and implement corrective actions within a timely manner.
  • Follows up and optimizes continuously paint consumption (primer, basecoat, clear coat, hardeners, and solvents, rinsing solvents…)
  • May relieve fellow team members for their breaks.
  • Make all necessary preventive maintenance checks for paint equipment.
  • Keep equipment clean and dust free.
  • Follow standard procedures to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner using all required personal protective equipment.
  • Support safety and quality policy by maintaining a neat and organized work area encouraging 5s through the cleanliness at the line.
  • Perform other duties or work in other areas as instructed to balance workloads or meet production needs.
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk on metal grates, metal floors, and or concrete during 10-hour shift
  • 2-years previous manufacturing experience, preferred
  • 2 years paint application experience, preferred.
  • Understanding knowledge of proper spray patterns.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
  • Ability to frequently lift 20-lbs individually to do what.
  • Ability to take supervision and follow all policies and procedures
  • Familiar with operating power tools
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Electrical or mechanical background in industrial and automated systems
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
  • Ability to constantly stand and walk on concrete floors wearing safety boots during 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to a SAFETY-FIRST culture.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and nights for projects and respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
