Christy Sports in Big Sky, MT is hiring for a bootfitting-focused role. You will assess guest needs, fit ski boots, and guide purchases while providing exceptional service in a dynamic outdoor retail environment.

Responsibilities include boot customization, bed/liner building, and staying updated on industry trends. The position emphasizes safety, merchandising, and growth within the company, with competitive hourly pay and commission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people.
• Ski/snowboard background preferred.
• Prior boot fitting experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• English fluency, written and verbal.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide bootfitting services and determine guest needs.
• Assist with boot selection and purchase.
• Perform boot customizations and build custom footbeds/liners.
• Develop effective sales techniques and deliver excellent customer service.
• Stay current on ski industry products and trends and share knowledge with guests.
• Follow safety procedures when using tools and equipment.
• Maintain merchandising and store cleanliness standards.
• Show drive to grow within the company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary Description

This position is primarily responsible for the proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots, the sale of ski / snowboard equipment and assisting with inventory control.

What You’ll Be Doing (Besides Planning Your Next Run):

• Determine guest needs and provide exceptional bootfitting services, including:
  • Boot selection and purchase
  • Boot customizations / modifications
  • Building of custom foot beds and liners
• Develop successful sales techniques and provide exceptional customer service
• Remain current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with guests
• Adhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipment
• Maintain merchandising of hard good product lines and store cleanliness standards
• Demonstrate the desire to succeed and grow within the company
• Other duties as may be assigned
