Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a friendly Barista to join our busy Café team. You will welcome customers, answer questions and help connect readers with beverages and cafe items while keeping the area clean and well presented.

As you gain experience, you will expand café knowledge, support the bookfloor team, follow FIFO practices, operate the register, and uphold guest service standards. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role with a friendly demeanor and strong service focus.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including mornings; weekend availability.
• Ability to handle cash and operate the POS accurately.
• Effective communication with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers cheerfully and answer questions.
• Stock and tidy cafe area and bakery case.
• Operate registers quickly and accurately.
• Unpack deliveries and stock shelves in the cafe.
• Maintain cafe cleanliness and FIFO dating.
• Prepare drinks and food with accuracy using guides and recipes.
• Support bookfloor team as needed and uphold standards.
• Follow loss prevention procedures and safety guidelines.
