A Barnes & Noble bookstore is a gathering place for readers and the community. As a Barista, you are an integral member of the team at the heart of our Cafés, welcoming customers and connecting readers with the right beverages and café items.

You help unpack deliveries, stock the bake case, and run the register with a quick, friendly, and highly professional service. We are a busy café team that values reliability, flexibility, and a cheerful attitude.

Qualifications

• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Open from early mornings to late evenings every day, including weekends and most holidays.
• Be positive and willing in your approach to work, performing tasks with purpose and energy.
• Be supportive and considerate of colleagues, helping others in the team.
• Be always cheerful with customers, and help them.
• Show aptitude and willingness to learn new skills in the store.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in a cheerful and helpful way, connecting readers with beverages and café items.
• Unpack and stock deliveries, tidy the bake case and dining area.
• Operate registers quickly and professionally to provide excellent service.
• Maintain the café presentation and ensure efficient running of the Café.
• Support the bookfloor team and assist with loss prevention and de-escalation as needed.
