Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a friendly Bookseller to greet customers, answer questions, and connect readers with titles. You will unpack deliveries, shelve stock, and run registers with quick, professional service in a busy store.

You will build book knowledge across fiction, nonfiction, children’s books and related product categories, keep displays attractive, and support the café team when needed. A growth path to Senior Bookseller is available.

Responsibilities

• Using varied technology, including registers, computers, tablets, programs and other tools comfortably and efficiently.
• Developing strong merchandising skills to maintain the book presentation and cleanliness of the store.
• Developing effective visual merchandising to maintain gifting and product category presentation.
• Running a register competently to serve customers quickly and reliably.
• Supporting the receiving and unpacking of deliveries, and shelving.
• Finding books and other products with ease using knowledge and available information tools.
• Supporting the café team willingly and effectively when needed.
• Understanding loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques.
