Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE, INC. is seeking a friendly Bookseller to greet customers, answer questions, and connect readers with titles. You will help unpack deliveries, shelve books, and maintain attractive displays, while operating the register efficiently and providing professional service.

As part of a busy store team, you will learn products across fiction, non-fiction, and children's books, develop merchandising skills, and support sales objectives. This is a temporary position with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Maintain reliable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Fill scheduling gaps when able, flexible to store needs (open mornings to late evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Be positive and proactive, perform tasks with purpose and energy.
• Support colleagues and show kindness to team members.
• Always cheerful with customers, help them.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and help them find books and products.
• Unpack and shelve deliveries and tidy displays.
• Operate registers and provide quick, friendly checkout service.
• Assist café team when needed.
• Follow loss prevention procedures and de-escalation techniques.
