A Barnes & Noble bookstore is a gathering place for readers and the community. As a Bookseller, you are an integral member of the bookselling team at the heart of our stores.

You welcome customers in a cheerful and helpful way by saying hello, answering questions, and consistently going out of your way to connect readers with the right titles and products. You will be trained to proficiently use registers, manage shelving, maintain displays, assist with the cafe, and follow loss prevention

Qualifications

• Must maintain reliable and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.
• Able to fill scheduling gaps and work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Positive, energetic approach with customers and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn new skills and grow with the team.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers cheerfully and connect readers with right titles and products.
• Answer questions and provide highly professional customer service.
• Unpack deliveries and shelve items, keeping displays tidy and attractive.
• Operate registers quickly and accurately at the point of sale.
• Support café team when needed and assist with merchandising tasks.
• Follow loss prevention procedures and de-escalate issues in-store.
• Collaborate with Store Team to maintain store operations and cleanliness.
• Learn and apply Barnes & Noble processes to advance to Senior Bookseller.
