Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a part-time Bookseller to welcome customers, answer questions, and connect readers with titles.

You will help unpack deliveries, shelve merchandise, and maintain attractive displays while operating registers in a fast, friendly manner. As you gain experience, you will build book knowledge across fiction, nonfiction and children's books and learn to make informed recommendations.

Qualifications

• Willingness to greet customers and assist with finding titles.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks (lifting, moving displays).
• Flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers cheerfully and help connect readers with titles and products.
• Unpack and shelve deliveries and tidy displays to maintain attractive presentation.
• Operate registers and provide quick, professional checkout experience.
• Develop knowledge across fiction, nonfiction and children’s books to make informed recommendations.
• Support cafe team when needed and follow loss prevention procedures.
