Job description

Academic Bone & Soft Tissue Pathologist (Academic Clinician or Physician-Scientist)

The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a full-time academic bone & soft tissue pathologist. Both recent fellowship graduates and mid-career/senior physicians are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be appointed to the full-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor) commensurate with experience. As a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, BIDMC and the Department of Pathology provide a clinically advanced and supportive academic environment for residents, fellows, and faculty.

Responsibilities

Will contribute to the Department’s diagnostic excellence, academic mission, and continued innovation. Will collaborate with molecular pathologists and oncologists to support precision oncology and clinical trials. Will teach and mentor fellows, residents, and medical students.

Qualifications
  • Strong diagnostic skills in bone & soft tissue pathology
  • Collaborative spirit and interest in working closely with molecular pathologists and oncologists to support precision oncology and clinical trials
  • An interest in teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students
  • An academic trajectory of scholarly interests in bone & soft tissue pathology
  • MD from an accredited medical school
  • Valid Massachusetts medical license or ability to obtain one
  • Board certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP)
