Job summary

University of Portland is seeking a part-time Concessions attendant to serve food and drinks at athletic events on campus. The role reports to a Bon Appetit Supervisor and offers flexible hours based on events this Fall and Spring.

Ideal candidates are comfortable in crowded environments, work well in teams, and can multi-task while following safety procedures and university policies. Training provided and shift-based scheduling available.

Job Summary

This part-time position will serve Concessions customers food and drinks at various athletic events on campus during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Position reports to a Bon Appetit Supervisor. Weekly hours are not guaranteed as position is based on an as-needed basis for athletic events.

Core Duties

• Monitor and maintain retail and display items, beverages, coffee, and condiment area
• Ensure that all retail and display items at their station are meeting the pre-established Great Expectations display standards
• Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner; resolve customer concerns
• Greet customers, smile, and process sales properly
• Keep cashier area and general cafe clean, utilizing proper cleaning products and sanitation standards
• Responsible for inputting sales into cash register – cash, credit card, and ID card transactions, according to Bon Appetit’s cash handling standards
• Count, verify, and reconcile daily sales
• Be courteous, positive, and helpful to all customer requests
• Seek assistance from management or supervisors as needed
• Other relevant duties as assigned

• Must be able to perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision,
• Interact professionally and positively with other employees, customers and suppliers, work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
• Must follow all safety procedures
• Must follow all University & Bon Appetit student employment policies
• May be required to possess or obtain current Oregon Food Handlers card

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous service experience preferred, not required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently bend, stoop and perform extensive walking
• Exert well-paced mobility to move from different areas of facility as service and production demands require
• Occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of lifting force and/or negligible amount of force to move objects
