Responsibilities

• Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects, such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections.
• Bolt or arc welds pressure vessel structures and parts together, using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Inspect assembled vessels or components to locate defects.
• Install rigging and coordinate crane or hoist operations to lift heavy sections.
• Study blueprints to determine locations and dimensions of parts.
• Assemble large vessels on-site to ensure proper fit.
