Job summary

Zachry Group in Texas seeks an experienced Boilermaker to remove, replace, and repair piping systems and boiler components such as soot blowers, burners and dampers. The role involves working near FGD process equipment, troubleshooting equipment, and dismantling/reassembling pumps.

Applicants must have NCCER Industrial Boilermaker credentials, be able to work at heights and in confined spaces, and possess all required tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with pipe fabrication and field measurements.
• Must have the required NCCER credentials or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications to determine scope, locations and sizes of materials.
• Identify tools required for tasks and fabricate equipment per instructions.
• Hoist equipment using bull rigging or crane and perform rigging tasks.
• Follow supervision directions and ensure safety procedures.
• Lay out from drawings, cut sheets and execute planned work.
• Perform welding and cutting per procedures and blueprints.

JOB DESCRIPTION

***THIS IS MAINTENANCE***NO PER DIEM***

Boilermaker will remove, replace and/or repair various piping systems; work on various coal fired boiler components including soot blowers, burners and dampers; work around and have experience with flue gas desulfurization process and equipment. Must have the knowledge to troubleshoot and detect both minor and major, with machines and equipment within a coal fired power plant; ability to dismantle and reassembly pumps.

• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
• Steel fabrication using torches, band saws, plasma cutter, grinders etc…
• Minor pipe fabrication – ability to pull field measurements to repair/replace like in kind pipe sections
• Pipe and steel prep for welding procedures
• Follow direction of supervision

• Knowledge of JLG’s man baskets, ST and RT fork lifts, ability to be training through Zachry and operate in needed
