Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential boiler systems (hot water and steam)
• Service burners, gas fuel systems, circulator pumps, zone valves, expansion tanks, and heating controls
• Perform combustion analysis and adjust systems for optimal efficiency
• Conduct routine maintenance including cleaning heat exchangers and testing safety controls
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical boiler components (aquastats, pressure controls, low-water cutoffs, relays, thermostats)
• Perform system start-ups, shutdowns, and seasonal tune-ups
• Read and interpret piping diagrams, wiring schematics, and manufacturer specifications
• Identify needed repairs and clearly explain recommendations to homeowners
• Complete accurate service documentation and maintain detailed service records
• Ensure all work complies with Massachusetts plumbing and mechanical codes, safety standards, and company policies
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed
