Job summary

Burnham Commercial in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Fitter/Welder to assemble boiler components, interpret weld symbols and blueprints, and align parts for welding. This is a full-time, union-hourly role in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have MIG and stick welding experience, be able to read technical drawings, and work from layouts. Hours are typically Mon-Fri with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Must pass ASME 2G stick, 2G MIG, and 3G stick weld tests.
• Ability to read blueprints or diagrams.
• Experience with measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Fit boiler plates and other products together and tack weld.
• Read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Assemble boilers by fitting parts and marking for welding.
• Measure and space stay bolts; use layout tools.
• Cut openings with oxyacetylene and align components.
• Align parts with plumb, level, and square; grind as needed.
• Move heavy plates with lifting equipment and cranes.
• Direct a helper when needed and follow safety procedures.
