Job summary

Boeing, in partnership with Spirit AeroSystems, invites motivated students to join the 2027 summer internship program in Wichita, KS. Interns will gain hands-on experience across software, systems analysis, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, and project management while touring facilities and meeting leaders shaping aerospace technology.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in a four-year program, can work full-time in Summer 2027, and have a strong interest in aerospace.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support one or more Spirit Commercial IDT&S teams in software, systems analysis, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, or technology project management.
• Onsite in Wichita, KS; work directly with mentors and leaders to learn and contribute to aerospace initiatives.
• Engage with manufacturing, engineering and research facilities to understand enterprise technology in a complex aerospace environment.

Undergraduate or graduate degree program

Majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Electrical Engineering or related fields

Position Responsibilities

Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S)

Spirit Commercial’s IDT&S organization provides technology solutions that connect people, data, applications, and manufacturing operations. Interns may support one or more teams working in software, systems analysis, infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital products, data analytics, or technology project management while learning how enterprise technology supports a complex aerospace manufacturing environment.

Potential internship assignments may include

• Software and application support
• Systems, network, or infrastructure support
• Cybersecurity and information protection
• Data analytics, reporting, and digital product support

These positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Wichita, KS.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate degree program
• Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career at Boeing
• Academic excellence (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
• Previous related internship or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations
• Majoring in one of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
• The ability to relocate and work onsite
