Job summary

Velocity Vehicle Group is hiring a Body Shop Technician in Tolleson, AZ to repair and restore heavy trucks. You will handle fiberglass, electrical work, and component replacements while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Freightliner Heavy Duty Trucks Systems and related repair techniques.
• Professional Certification and Specialist Certification preferred.
• Ability to utilize a wide range of tools and equipment to diagnose and repair trucks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct body restoration work for trucks and restore them to prime condition.
• Perform repairs on axles, including replacements when necessary.
• Replace transmissions, radiators, and compressors to maintain optimal performance.
• Address issues with frames, fifth wheels, roofs, and related components to ensure structural integrity.
• Execute electrical repairs and troubleshoot issues on trucks.
• Carry out paint jobs and ensure a high-quality finish.
• Communicate with the Manager regarding additional repairs or challenges.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
• Collaborate to streamline repair processes and deliver excellent service.
• Stay updated on Freightliner systems and pursue professional certifications.

As a Body Shop Technician, you'll play a crucial role in repairing and restoring trucks to ensure they're safe and in top condition for the road. • Replace critical components such as transmissions, radiators, and compressors to maintain optimal performance.
• Address issues with starters, frame rails, fifth wheels, and roofs to ensure structural integrity.
• Execute electrical repairs on trucks, troubleshooting and resolving any issues efficiently.
• Conduct paint jobs as required, ensuring a flawless finish.
• Communicate with the Manager regarding additional repairs or challenges that may arise.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keeping them in excellent condition and operating safely.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues to streamline repair processes and deliver exceptional service.
• Stay updated on Freightliner Heavy Duty Trucks Systems and pursue professional certifications to enhance expertise.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

• Proficiency in Freightliner Heavy Duty Trucks Systems and related repair techniques.
• Professional Certification and Specialist Certification preferred.
• Ability to utilize a wide range of tools and equipment to diagnose and repair trucks effectively.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail for working with small parts and tight spaces.
• Strong customer service skills to address client concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Critical thinking abilities to assess damage accurately and determine appropriate repair strategies.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination, and background check

Compensation:

• $30-$38 hourly depending on experience and qualifications
