Job summary

Baker Chevrolet GMC (Big Rapids) is seeking a dependable Body Shop Detailer and Assistant. You will wash vehicles, clean interiors, and support the shop team. Opportunity to take on more office tasks over time and grow with the department. Computer basic skills are a plus as duties expand.

The role offers $17-$19 per hour with potential 90-day pay increase based on performance and a path to career advancement within a highly productive shop.

Responsibilities

• Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down door jambs.
• Vacuum interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation.
• Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.
• Keeps the work area neat and clean.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position:Body Shop Detailer and Assistant

We are seeking a dependable, motivated individual to assist in our body shop. As a Body Shop Detailer and Assistant, you will be responsible for cleaning vehicles, assisting with general shop tasks, and supporting the team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and grow, with the opportunity to take on additional office responsibilities over time. Experience with computers is a plus.

We are looking for someone who is reliable and ready to step up, with potential for additional responsibilities in the future.

Pay Rate:$17-$19 per hour, with the possibility of a 90-day increase based on performance.

Experience and Qualification

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
